    Default very cheap manual vacume pump you can make at home

    This is fantastic.

    What sort of preasure in PSI and or mecury do you need for vacume stabalisation of burls and stuff?

    This might be a much better option than using electrics and stuff.

    Hmm, certainly worth further investigation and trial. Would appear to work for stablizing blanks in the jam jar trick, thanks for the link

    You can turn a push bike pump into a vac pump by putting the leather washer up the other way and on top of the metal washer. You'd still have to make valves but some bike valves woiuld work.
