    Default New found Skill

As I think I mentioned earlier in another post I don't normally write anything, but As I seam to be getting the hang of it.. I thought I would ask a few questions..

I found this post in the announcements (don't know how to link it yet - so you will have you forgive me ..!)

it's for a product called Cactus Juice - as I'm new to turning and building skills is a great way to learn.. The question I have is.. are other people using this stuff and although the cactus guy looks cute and the vidio looks great, I still don't know what / when would you use it on / for .?

All help would be great - and I can practise my new skills (posting..)

Betty, or Mrs Boop if you prefer. Cactus Juice is used to stabilize / harden wood, or other soft materials, for turning. It is a liquid soaked into the wood, usually under vacuum, and when saturated, is heated in an oven to harden the liquid. It is most often used on spalted wood (partially decayed) that would otherwise be unusable. It makes the unturnable into something you can work with.

Cats Juice stinks so give it a pass if it is offered to you.

It is used for stabilizing, and yes I use it, works well. Do a search and you will find a few posts by me using it, including videos on U-tube during a demo day I held a while back.

ok sounds a bit advanced for me - I think I might have to give it a miss

One question I do have you says it smells, what do you prefer (or don't you do it either ..?)

I was jokingly referring to the cat juice, aka cat piddle, you referred to in the first post. I don't know about the smell of the stabilizer "Cactus Juice", proper product name.
