HELP Casting Cane Toad Skin Blanks
Making Cane Toad blanks colours migrate and create staining during the cast and spoiling the blank any thoughts Neil on this subject also occurs in Snake casts sometimes causing losses there.
Info for my mate who is casting for me.

Hey Peter, are you "sealing" the skins prior to casting? I think from memory that this can be done with CA or clear epoxy but needs a day or so to degas before final casting. There are tutorials on snakeskin casting over on the IAP site library that covers this subject.

Sounds like the tanning solution is leaching out, so definitely needs to be sealed. I use a spray acrylic spray, then leave for a few days before casting.
