    Default Nomination for Special Award

I have just nominated myself for a New Year's Honours Award in a new category for Idiot of the Year.
Getting ready for my first ever attempt at casting pen blanks I have made a mould using melamine.

The mould was leaking through the bottom of the partitions. Best way to get into the small areas was to cut thin strips off the hot melt glue stick, place them in position, and then melt them with the hot air gun. Absolutely brilliant idea!

Not quite so brilliant was cutting the strips on the bandsaw. Just spent two hours dismantling it and removing melted glue from the blade, the doors, the guides, the wheels and the poly tyres.

Just like when I got married, it seemed a good idea at the time.

That's why it's called "Hot Melt" glue. I'm glad it was you and not me.

You will have a lot of competition for that award if everyone who is eligible puts their name in.

Don't be too hard on yourself. The idea was good in theory but let down in practice.

'Twas indeed a Cunning Plan....only foiled by the interference of reality.
