Phenolic Plywood for epoxy resin Mold
Hello, this is my first post, thanks for allowing me to join! I’ve been doing epoxy resin tables for a while using plywood mold covered with Tuck Tape and also sprayed with Silicon Mold Release. So far it has worked flawlessly. Recently I saw a Phenolic covered Plywood at my hardware store and was wondering if I made the mold using this plywood, would I still need to cover the plywood surface with Tuck Tape? Or would it be enough to just spray it with silicon release spray?

Welcome to the forum.
The material I've seen that might be the same was used by the highways departments here, painted for road signs along highways. I think you would only need to wax it or use a mold release. The corners would need sealing. Glueing to it was problematic with the standard white glues used for wood. Urethane and epoxy glues would probably have worked but I never tried and Gorillas were only found in zoos and not on the labels of glue bottles. What does work well is the white melamine coated sheet goods. Usually a sawdust/chipboard used for kitchen cabinets. It only needs wax or mould release on it.

As I have seen this exact post elsewhere, I sincerely hope that panamajuice is not trying to sell any CD/DVD of "Ted's Woodworking Plans".
