i haven't used it as yet, everything i have cast has just been done in conduit, no bubles at all
i have a friend who is getting together a vacuum pump for me, which will hook into the pressure pot
the pot holds pressure though and i cut off the pipe which goes down to where the paint would be

the main reason i got the pressure vacuum pot was for stabilizing wood, i have some burls that are so soft that they fly apart and some others that are full of holes, i thought to suck some resin into them to make them workable, and have a bit of a play of course

Two things:
1) I'm told that if you heat that pipe, you can unscrew it from the lid.
(I didn't do that myself, never heard about it till I had cut it off VERY short)
2) If you remove the pipe instead of cutting it off, you can install a 90 degree elbow
in it's place. This will divert the air flow when you charge the pressure pot so that
the air stream doesn't blow the resin right out of your mold.
If you've already cut it too short to get it out, just be sure to put something over the
mold to stop the air from blasting the resin all over.
