Pressure Pot help in Melbourne?
Hey guys,
I've been doing castings in silicone/resin (not necessarily pen turning, more statues and such) for a while and have just bought a pressure pot and compressor as I'm craving bubble free casts.
I've done a few tests and read a lot into it but have decided I should really contact someone who is doing similar and can show me there exact process for safety reasons.
The pressure between the compressor gauge and the pot gauge are something I dont completely understand as im getting different readings on both, as well as a few other inquiries, and I'd kick myself if something went terribly wrong just because I was too lazy to seek a good tutorial from someone in the know.
Is there anyone in melbourne who'd be willing to impart some knowledge?
Cheers,
Steve

Do a search of pressure pot set-ups, plenty of info here, plus people with pots a bit closer to you that may be able to show you their set-ups.

Hey guys,
thanks so much. The videos were great, very informative on mixing and casting, but again my main concern is using the compressor and pot properly which the videos only touched on. A bit off topic i realise, I may have to look into more of a plumbing forum perhaps.
My main 2 concerns are:
Do i need the T bar regulator? It doesnt seem to do much as Im not sure what the screw in it is meant to do. Could I just remove the regulator and fit the air compressor straight to the pot, and have the gauge on the other inlet?
And
When i turn on the compressor and slowly release air into the pot, the gauge on the compressor seems to very quickly rise up to near 80 when the pot gauge rises much slower, probably half that (i plan to only use 40psi). Am i not releasing the valve on the compressor enough to let enough out into the pot?
Any info would be great, but again i realise this is a bit off topic.
Cheers.
