New to stabilizing - A couple of questions
I'm new to stabilizing and I used polyurethane mixed with mineral spirits (80/20) as an experiment. No one sells stabilizing fluid where I live. I noticed there was liquid in the tube going back to the vacuum pump (I'm using a venture setup with compressor).
Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
Thanks

Absolutely. It will set within your pump and stuff it up. Pull your vacuum pump apart and clean out the oil and vanes ASAP.
When vacuuming you need to have a decent air gap to the top of your tank to ensure the bubbles don't get too high. You should also have a trap before your pump to catch any accidents.
I also worry about using thinned down polyurethane too. Resins go off faster under vacuum, especially when using relatively fast set resins like the polyurethanes, and it is unlikely the air has been removed prior to the resin setting. The spirit fumes will also get sucked into your pump causing problems for your pump.
Curtis sells his Cactus Juice to many in Canada, and the rest of the world, so check out his site https://www.turntex.com/index.php?op...art&Itemid=121
He also has a lot of videos and help Q&As that are very good.
Cheers
