Default Videos on mould making and casting

I too have put my mug on youtube with a 7 part series on how to make one of my products from scratch. It shows making the mould with pinkysil, pouring and mixing colours and finishing.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

No problem. I really liked doing it actually. Bad head for camera though

Camera works looks fine to me.

You obviously don't have a lathe, something i didn't even think of. With a lathe, you could have turned the ultimate master from a resin block, much cheaper than doing the double mold process (especially with that pink stuff). Anyway, you got there with a product you are happy with, plus you now can reproduce what you want many times .

Yep absolutely dai sensei. PITA but I had to get buy with what I have. I'm in the market for a lathe now but I'm having trouble deciding on metal or wood. I'm leaning towards metal but the wood is so simple

Nice series of videos Ringtail. Have you tried sanding with MM up to 12000 for a higher lustre before you use the cutting compound.

Make sure you use chemical resistant gloves when you mix the resin and don't forget that eye protection - you forgot it in the video

Waiting for someone to notice that with the safety glasses

I have the MM and have used it on a few but time is money. Of course, for my own pieces I go all out The best time saver will be a lathe to turn the scabby bottom ( top in the mould) off quick smart. At the moment the belt sander is ok but slow and leaves a decent amount of sanding to be done. A metal lathe with auto cross feed would be nice for this.
