    Hey Rick

Nice to hear you are happy with your package.

Crap. I put the wrong paper bit into your box, it should read "Tasmanian Burl Myrtle". I check another box a made at the same time out of blackwood and sure enough it say "Tasmanian Burl Myrtle". Must of been distracted by the kids when I was packing your parcel.

Its a Dayacom JNR Gent not a Baron.

Also thanks in advance for the parcel that you sent me.

No problem Now I know what those blanks you included will look like ahead of time. I figured it was a Baron because the kit is identical to what they sell here as the Baron. I compared them after reading your reply and the only difference appears to be the nib and the ink pump. They appear to be of better quality on the JNR Gent.

    Thanks Again

I was umming and aahhing about going in this swap, and from the quality of the pens shown so far, I'm glad I didn't - I would have been outright embarrassed!

Maybe another years practice and I'll have a go next year

Fantastic looking pens guys. That B.E. Huon pen from Timberbits is absolutely stunning.

    Cheers,

Dave, don't let the quality faze you, we all do the best we can, and we accept what our pen swap partner gives all in good will, whether it be a slimline and made by a beginner and held together by elastic bands, or whether it is made by an experienced person and a high end pen, it is the thought behind it that matters, and great friendships can be made along the way. Dave, I agree with Woodenink.

I am new to this hobby. Less than 20 pens made ... in fact, #17 is on its way to Australia now in the swap. Do I feel that my pens are the best ones made ... NO WAY! I'm still learning. However, the encouragement of these groups is part of what keeps me going to do better. So many suggestions and ideas, and so little time.

I'm sure that what I receive back will be superior to what I sent, but I also am sure that funkychicken will appreciate what he receives, and be able to provide feedback to me to help my turnings improve by the time the next exchange comes around. What I sent was the best of my abilities at this time, and a very fine pen by my standards. In any future swaps I will continue to send the best of my abilities and hopefully those abilities are improved upon year on year.

    Jeff

    Default Wow!

Wow! my huge parcel arrived from Oistein in Norway today, it was just like Christmas as a little boy.

The parcel contained a gold Majestic in bog oak that is between 5000 - 6000 years old, and a huge collection of blanks that I have never seen before. this is also the first time I have held a Majestic in my hand also. A beautiful pen, thank you Oistein I am very happy on one hand but embarrassed on the other that I never sent him as many blanks. This will be corrected in the next couple of weeks and another parcel will be on its way to Norway

Also in the parcel was some Burmese teak from the bark SS Statsraad Lehmlcuhl built in germany 1812 - 1814 what a prized possession once again than you very much I will have to dig deep to equal up the swap

Wow Sam, what an exciting package, you must be over the moon. I am so glad you received something like that knowing how you appreciate old timber, history and quality work. Oistein, you couldn't have sent it to a more worthy recipient.

Default Pen Swap Peter and Terry in The USA

Terry advised me today he had received my pen and blanks, highly pleased, he is putting the finishing touches to my pen and will despatch soon, he remarked all of the pen blanks I sent were new to him and really liked them as well.
