Shipping on Tuesday!!
Got the package ready to mail to Boomeranginfo today. Last pen I completed before the lathe threw-up a bearing in the headstock.
Gotta go find a (BIG) hammer and fix it.Never be afraid to try something new.

Just received mine from Jenny today!
Oh my goodness!.... I feel that I have been treated to some really special stuff here.
Two pens no less... one in Jarrah, and the other in Sheoak.
Plus a great selection of wood that I have never even seen before.
Thanks Jenny!!!

Without any coordinated effort, our packs arrived, on opposite sides of the globe, at the same time!!!
I have received a lovely pen made from flamed sycamore. thought I should get a really australian back drop for the photo - banksia leaves and nut (pity there isn't sound attached as there was a crow carrying on in the background and I frightened a kangaroo asleep under a tree nearby!!)
The other timbers in the pack I have heard of but have only used some London Plane (that came in a 'pen swap challenge') from the eastern states.
thanks Rod, I'll certainly enjoy turning these!

Bob, I am happy you like the package. It was my pleasure, I was getting a bit worried that it had gone astray or been held in customs. So now I can sleep a little better. By the way your pen is getting some WOW comments people love the timber. Thanks again and we will be swapping some more blanks.

Thanks for all your efforts Sam. It has been fun being involved in this exchange. I have sent my package and I am certain it should be there in Oz on Monday. I understand from my eldest that it would take four or five days to get there. GREAT !

Well, for better or worse, mine is in the post to Woodwrite. I should have started when Sam first announced the contest. I wish I had more time to try a few other options for something unique.
Hopefully it'll be there early next week at the latest.

Received my package from Nicholai today he said it would be here on Monday he must have some one on the inside working for him ??
The pen is a magnificent dyed and stabilized Elder Burl SIERRA micromeshed to 12000 grit then 6 coats of CA micromeshed again and then polished with Flitz Polish, also there is 2 Walnut blanks 1 xcut, 3 zebra wood and 1 acrylic inlace. My photo's dont do the pen justice.

swap partner
I havent heard from my swap partner. I got his pen a few weeks ago and sent his the day after. I havent heard from him and his site is not accessible. It is www.penscanada.com. Can someone try it and see if I am the only one unable to contact him? I have sent him emails and they dont go through either.?!
