Hey Craig! Good to see you here, too.
I wouldn't knock all of France over one pen swap.
Knock France over the snooty waiters, instead.

Hi Craig,
Good to see you here mate, I understand your grief form last year and hope that his year it will somehow redeem itself. you were not the only one that struck out last year , I sincerely hope that all who register this year will complete the swap.
I have had similar experiences on other forums with swaps, it seem there are a few persons out there that enter the swap with no intention of completeing the swap just to collect another pen
Look forward to seeing more of your posts

Just in regards to those few that "rort" the system , I really feel that some sort of "blackballing"between webmasters " of offending persons may well be justified ,its easily done and may make some of these "users"less likely to flaunt the system and the good people who play fair.Just my thoughts on this !!!
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Hi,
I'd be happy to put my hand up for two pens if needed.
One for me to make, one for my daughter to make.
Regards

Better yet, get your daughter signed up and have her enter and make a pen for the swap! Then if you want to make two, it would be two each! You would be rolling in pens.
As for the people who do not complete their portion of the swap, I agree with the blackballing concept. There should be consequences for failing to follow through. We are all making a promisde, a commitment, you might even say an unwritten contract to follow through. Barring death, dismemberment, or other extreme circumstances, the parties involved should still contact and say what is going on and make arrangements to complete at a later date or something. So let us all hope to experience a great partner and have fun.
Sorry...just my 2 cents. (or whatever applies per your own culture)

Larry, I would like to participate OS. I tried to apply on the IAP site but was told to enroll here. I saw the list on page one and did not see my name, hence the reason for this post.
Thanks,
Alex Chapa

There seems to be a few people from the last swap who had swap partners that didn't complete their end of the swap.
Did anyone keep tabs on who didn't keep their end of the deal. Is there some way of making sure these people don't put their names in again, just to have it happen to someone else.
-Gavin.
PS. I put my hand up for two, one for my daughter, one for me.While my daughter reads the forums, and enjoys the woodturning sections, and gets more lathe time that I do. As she is only 14, at the moment, she is happy enough to read and not register but would like to be involved.

I know that there were people that did not complete the swap last year and the only one I am positive about is Kruger from France as Craig has said in many forums he did not get a pen in return. Lutefisk also reported not receiving a pen and Jenlwren.
Can you please, other than Craig, let us know if you did not receive a pen and whom was your partner. you can list them here if we want to have a back ball list
For those who did have a good experience please send a message to your partner and invite them to take part they may not be aware of it. I have personally emailed many and they have since joined in
"Artme" Arthur how about flying the flag for Brazil whilst you are down there mate.Last edited by Simomatra; 10th January 2010 at 08:44 AM. Reason: spelling

Add another Yank to the exchange, I don't mind shipping to Australia, so I guess I'd say OS? Not sure which way it's being looked at. as a matter of fact, I would rather swap with someone from Australia.
