Wow! The man up there has really looked after me in this swap, first a fantastic steam-punk pen, which get flashed on every chance I get and amazing blanks from Marla which are receiving accolades everywhere and now a mind blowing package has also arrived form Jerry Sambrook.
Firstly there is one of Charlie's aka New London's beautiful boxes with the Aussie flag and Australian coat of arms, the box houses two Jnr Victors one in Alternate Ivory and one in black pearl. Jerry must have know that Pat and I will be married 40 years next February and this is an early present.
If that was not enough he included 2 pristine American Holly, 2 Red Heart and 2 Blue Mahoo. I have only ever seen pictures of Red Heart and have never heard of Blue Mahoo. thank you Jerry.

Sorry mates, I have been in hospital for 3 weeks, so here goes
I have recieved 3 of the 5 packages from my pen mates
1. (ldubia) Larry Dubia was the first pens recieved and he sent a bunch 10 pens, 1 perfume applicator and 2 stich removers with 16 wood blanks, 1 laminated blank and 2 acrylic blanks. I am not doing Larry justice here by trying to describe all that he gave me, however, after the hospital visit no one knows where the camera is.
2. (Coffenup) Michael Christopher was second with 2 comfort pens 1 in Aussie western ceder and 1 with hairy oak, northern silky oak, and ebony. Both extreamly nice pens, along with a tasmanian tiger myrtle blank.
3. (Blackbuttwa) Col Smith is next with a handsome pen like a wall street 2 ? in black titatinum and gold with 9 blanks: 1 sheoak, 1 Jarrah burl, 4 Jarrah, 1 Banksia Grandis, 1 Sandalwood, and 1 Gimlet
and (Mkypenturner) Troy Geisler has notified me his is on the way. Does anyone know Don Nicholas?
I beleive no one truly knows how good it feels to swap with so many mates from around the globe and knowing they made somthing for me. I am deeply thankful to all and to Nick (hip, hip, haray) for the work he has done. Just to let all know the doctors said next pen swap will be my last. So I am getting ready for it now and maybe have 30 + mates to send too.
Cheers to all
Keep up the Good fight

Well, I am fairly new to pen turning, and this was my first pen swap, and am I upset! HazzaB was supposed to my my pen friend, and what does he do? He sent me a pen that I can't get here in the States. So now I'll have to increase my import deficit spending to obtain Knight kits!
Seriously though, the blanks are really awesome, I'm just worried of making a mistake in turning them. HazzaB sent 6 unique blanks: Kauri; Sandlewood; Red Mallee Burl; Jarrah Wandoo Root Burl; Sheoak and a Knight pen turned from Coastal Jarrah! I had read of Kauri but the others are all unknown to me
Thanks again Harry for making my first pen swap an enjoyable one.
Cheers,
Rob

Hey There,
I received my swap parcel from Rob (SloLouie) last week and was waiting for some more info before I posted my pics, The pen is a Cigar dressed on Cocobolo, really nice job, and the heap of blanks are all really different stuff that I haven't seen before except the Redwood, Apparently the IPE is a hardwood that is used for decks over there and has a similar Fire Resistance as Concrete (Robs discription) Another pen for the Private collection and another mate from the other side of the pond.
Great job to the organiser (Nick), whoever does the next one please put my name in the Hat.

I work up in Sydney but live in Canberra so didn't get this package until about 20 minutes ago. To say I'm happy with what was in the box would be an understatement... a great pen in what appears to be Lignum Vitae and a crushed velvet acrylic. The LV is cross cut through the heart so can appreciate it took some skill to keep the blank in one piece
I also got a great range of blanks and a few veneers which I will have a think about before rushing into using them. I'm wondering if the ? burl might be Amboyna? It's quite light and has what looks like a nice swirling figure but am happy to be corrected if anyone has other ideas.
Thanks very much to Donkeeeeeeee and all the other organisers of this years swapIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

My swap partner, Mrs. Woodpecker sent me a beautiful Sierra pen in False Sandalwood along with four blanks that arrived at the beginning of last week. The shine of the CA finish doesn't come through in my pictures.
I loved swapping stuff with Shirley and want to thank Sawdust Maker for putting us together and for all the work he did for all of us making the swap possible.
Eagerly awaiting the next swap
Pete

A few days ago I received my swap package from Jennifer (aka Touchwood)!!
The only possible way she could have done any better was to deliver it in Person.
There is gorgeous stuff in there. Many uniquely Australian Blanks which are already in my shop being turned into sawdust....errrrrr Pens I mean.
I will post pics of the finshed pens soon.
But she hit the nail right on the head with her selection of the pen she made:
I tried to attach a pic, I don't think it worked, I'll try again.

Hi Everyone!
I was very, very fortunate to be paired with Glenn (glenn_mcculloug) for my first pen swap, and I have to say, I am a very fortunate person!
I was simply amazed when I open my package.
From Glenn's description: "The materials are curly ash, black acrylic, guitar pickguard material and sterling silver wire on a Havannah chasis".
Also tucked in the box were some figured live oak blanks, figured walnut, and pink ivory.
Unfortunately my pictures do not do the pen justice - if you have better one's Glenn feel free to post them.
Seeing a pen like this first hand has really opened my eyes as to what can be achieved, and I thank Glenn for that.
Hopefully my package is nearing your shores now Glenn. I'd like to thank Glenn for his patience - some travel up north to an ill relative set me back a few times.
It was a pleasure to be put in contact with Glenn
Thanks mate!
Nathan.
