I am very happy that you like the pen mate
if they change the flag then the pens will become collectors items and worth even more!!!

I sent my pens out today from the US. It may take some time to get to Mark & David. After seeing some of these pictures, I'm not sure I want them to arrive!
I chose the bolt-action pens from PSI with two-toned Texas Ebony. After all, nothing says "Texas" like a rifle pen! This was the first time I have turned Texas Ebony (native to S. Texas and northern Mexico) and I really like turning it. It is very dense and hard. I'll have to keep my eye out on some more because it is difficult to find.
I hope it meets the high standards that the rest of ya'll have set here!
Brady...
I've been meaning to post this for a while,
Swap Michael Vale - cast resin pen; with Geoff Whaling (Mobyturns) Celtic knot pen.
One of my swaps all done and dusted!!
A lovely looking redgum pen from Petewright, finished in a natural wax. I haven't ever used a wax to finish a pen (usually ca, actually its really the only thing I've used....time to branch out). It feels quite nice in the hand, has a lovely subtle grain and is finished really well!!
Top job Pete!!
He also included quite a few blanks of redgum and ironbark!! Can't wait to uncover some of the hidden gems!!

Thanks again to the organizers this year.... once again its a great chance to have some fun (and try extra hard because I know someone who knows what goes on behind the scenes is looking at the final product.... not just a family member) and say hi to different members of this great forum!!
Cheers

Received my package from David today, opened to find this great redgum pen and a few blanks. Thanks David it is great, also very nice hold and writes well.
Mine were sent this week so you should receive shortly.
As Gabriel said, thanks to organizers for this, it is great to see others work in the flesh to be able to see and feel the work that goes into these, only fellow turners spend the time working out how to do it and understand the work involved in getting the finish just the way you want it.
Thanks to everyone involved, I am already looking at new things to do with pens.
Cheers
Steve

Received my pen and blanks from Steve yesterday
Thanks Steve for a great fountain pen, for a new turner your finish on the pen is excellent.
The pen is made from Sass:?
I will see if I can post the pictures of the pen Steve made:rolleyes:
Glad you like pen David,
The pen is sassafras, CA finish, I seem to be able to get the finish right on some pens, still working on getting things consistent but improving when I get time to play.
Cheers
Steve
I received the 2nd pen swap from Brady, a bolt action bullet pen made from Texas Ebony and Highly finished, along with some pen blanks as well, all the way from the USA
Thanks Brady for this and the notes explaining about the timber:cool:
Regards

Beautiful work Amos, you haven't lost your touch.
I'm sure Peter would have been very happy when he opened that parcel.:2tsup:
Here is my other pen!!
Got back from a small trip up north, and the next day in the mail, a package with my name on it!!
This one is from Sawdust Maker. Thanks a bunch Nick!! Great finish, very uniform and will be well used in my shed. I can't put any guarantees on how long it will look this nice, but a used pencil is better than one sitting on the shelf (or so I think).
I'm guessing Nick wanted me to play 'guess that timber' as there wasn't a label on it.
I'm not great at guessing such things. A wild stab in the dark, I would say mango root.
Accompanying the pen was quite a few blanks to keep me going for a while longer!!
Once again thanks a bunch everyone involved and I can't wait til the next one!!
Cheers

I'm pleased it arrived safely and that you like it
The piece of timber was labelled "cork wood" or "cork tree" when I received it in a batch of blanks from South Aus years ago
I received a package from Colorado yesterday (hopefully mine's almost at his address as it was sent over a week ago)
anyway I've received a Satin Chrome Triton rollerball clad in acrylic "Woodland Mist" dare I say one very spectacular pen. And I note the center band and finial are matching the body, cool.
I also received an couple of pieces of wood to help me light the barbi, woops I meant to say, to add to my stash! :U
Mr Vic, thanks muchly for the pen and blanks
I can only hope you like my offering as much as I like this
