Dang, they sure got some nice timbers down under! I've got some of that MA in my shed also. Never knew what it was.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Shooting in the dark here, the initials you have supplied have no meaning for me.
Anyway, the first one looks like Blackwood, 2nd maybe Yellowbox or Yellow Mallee with the last BulloakCheers

I can't help with those initials but someone else may be able to . DJ works in the wood industry so he is probably well on to it
You have some beautiful pieces there and at a bargain
Well done

Fair enough .. the sign did say there was some Mallee in there, but I don't
know what kind or which one was which.
Some nice figuring, so I'm excited either way!
Thanks for the help.. and I'll keep looking for pics to see if I can nail it down,
too. I'd hate to send a pen and identify it as "Umm .. it's WOOD!"

Are those initials supplied in order of pix?
'Cos the last one could be African Mahogany... MA may be Mountain Ash but none look like it to me.

Hmm.. I don't remember at all. I brought the wood to the shop today to
try it on the bandsaw, so I don't have it here to check. But I'll do that in the
morning and let you know. I'm pretty sure the last one (most square, it was
about 6x6x2?) said JZ on it, but I won't swear to it till I check.

The first photo looks like AMboyna, The 2nd, MA? prob M4 as in Myrtle 4kgs, and 3rd, JZ ? about 6x6x2 ? I reckon J2 as in jarrah 2kgs. I had a good pick up about 12 years ago, I spotted and promptly bought a heap of "pine" 4x2s going cheap which was actually all KD HUON
everything is something, for a reason:confused:

Fine, I'll do OS if I have to...just to fit in...
But first I'll have to get my new lathe, a mandrel, and some pre-drilled blanks.
Or are the blanks sent to us? Please explain the whole deal, I'm new to this.
