    Default Mechanical Pencil

Howdy. I'm in the market for a fancy mechanical pencil for my dear mother in law for doing her crosswords. I havnt had very much notice for this request- in fact her birthday is next Wednesday. I'm happy to pay whatever along with a donation to the forum of some sort. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

What about a turned pencil? You can get the pencil kit from CWS Store - Pencil Kits

so what diameter lead do you want?
    0.3
    0.5
    0.7
    0.9
    2.0
    mm
    there might be other sizes

2.0 mm will want to be teamed with a lead pointer.
0.9 mm should be good as is
    similarly 0.7 mm
0.3 mm is oft times a little fragile, 0.5 mm less so
    regards from Alberta, Canada

Thanks gents. I needed to mention I'm in south australia so to get one in time it would need to be local ish. A turned pencil is what I had in mind.

Might I suggest you contact the above link for South Australian woodturners who might have some pencils made up? There's a phone number at the bottom of the page.

If there is a mens' shed anywhere nearby it would be worth trying them. Most have a pen turner among their members.
