Extremely nice pen, interesting shaped kit and the cherry burl is brilliant

    Attachment 261445

Mack also sent across a couple of blanks (from bottom Bocote, Box Elder burl with orange gold acrylic, Jack Daniels, Osage Orange, Bethlehem Olive, and a patriotic green and gold acrylic)
and ... a pelican centre finder

Mack, thanks very much for being my partner
and I'll make sure I'm not driving after I turn that Jack Daniels blank

Hi Nick; A little more light on your pen! Thanks for liking it!
It feels really great to sell a pen,
It feels even greater to give one to a friend!

The little metal rocket is a chamfer tool used in reloading shell casings. The pointed end chamfers the inside the brass tube and the other end make an outside chamfer

    Default From Don Vann

Well this is the first of two swaps for 2013, This came from Don in Texas. It is my first ever kit-less pen I have received. It is an amazing yellow and red acrylic with black at the end and it is one of my favorite pens to use, a fountain pen. Don asked if I turn acrylics and Sierras, I said yes. Don casts his own resins and I received 8 of his own casts with amazing colours, he also cast 4 label cast Sierra blanks for me as well. The state flag of Texas, the Australian flag and 2 cigar band Sierras. Thank you very much Don, the pen will hold pride of place with my other pens I have received.

    Cheers

    Default From Michael aka Coffenup

I received my parcel from Michael - Coffenup and have been working in Gladstone Kmart due to the Bundaberg one being flooded. Did a 5hr round trip to pick up Don's, Shed's parcels and to take photos and to head back to Gladstone ready for work tomorrow. It is an Olive Root Comfort Grip, it is the first time I have received or used a comfort grip. I like the idea of the rubber grip incorporated into the lower half of the pen. Along with this amazing pen I received a Hairy Oak, Solomon Island Blackwood, Bubinga, Scented Cedar, Wanou?, Blackwood, Cooktown Ironwood and Walnut. Also a block of Eucalyptus Burl, a block of Tiger Myrtle and some deer antler that will make some good contrasting center bands . Thank you Michael, your pen has come with me to Gladstone to use for the paperwork up there. The greatest thing with these swaps is that you receive a pen that you can put in a display case to admire or to use, I do both

    Cheers

    Hi Darren,
Perhaps the "Wanou" shown is "Wandoo". Eucalyptus Wandoo
(Wandoo, White Gum) from South-West Western Australia.

I recieved my Parcel from John (walshjp17) at the end of last week, and it was a very nice surprise when I opened the package I will be trying to take some photos either this afternoon or tomorrow, My pen for him is in the mail on its way to USA

Due to Work, Travel, and a few other obstacle I haven't yet swapped with my Aus partner, Tony (AuS MaDDoG) we plan on meeting up to swap in person, otherwise we could have posted them to each other, but being an hour away seems like a good opportunity to meet a fellow Forumite,
