Default Show Us Yer Pens! 2013 Australia Day Pen Swap

    Okay, I'll start off.

I received Basmansimon's package this morning and what a pearler! It's a Baron II Rollerball wrapped in some cross cut Golden Wattle. The grain of the timber is quite special and the finish Simon has applied is flawless. I also received 3 cross cut Golden Wattle blanks which I'm looking forward to getting stuck into.

    Thank you so much Simon

I received a package from Homeleigh today, in it was a gold Cigar dressed in River Blue Gum, along with a couple of nice looking blanks.

    Thanks Chris

Here is the pen I received today courtesy of Scott.

Cigar wrapped in QLD Maple. The blank is really silky, and shows brilliantly through the finsh. To top it off, three beaut pen blanks which I can't wait to get into - especially looking forward to turning the Ancient Redgum he gave me.

    Love it!
    Simon.

My pen has touched down in the States so I'm safe sharing a couple of pics here now. The pen below is the one I sent along with a few blanks. I started a thread with a few more pics of the blanks used here.

There's 20 different Aussie woods used in this pen.

    Default Corbs' PITH recieved

I wanted to share Corbs' awesome PITH and 11 cool blanks!
He included a nice piece of Red Mallee Burl, also a blank of Puple Gidgee that will be turned shortly. I'll be sending out my PITH shortly, I'll have some big shoes to fill!
Thanks again Andrew for the really cool pen and your generous selection of blanks.
    Cheers,
    Rob

Glad it arrived safely Chris. Your pics are quite good actually, but if you dont mind I'd like to post one as well that I took before before I put it in the mail.
Edit= just noticed that your pics show the curly figure better in the White Cedar.

The timbers I used for this pen are Australian White Cedar with Australian Red Cedar accents.

Sure is strange seeing them from here.

I asked which he'd prefer, fountain or roller....He told me to surprise him. One of each was about the only thing I could think of for a surprise!

I am still shipping Internationally for now.
