    Default My Work Bench

I thought I would post a pic of my workbench that I built.

Nothing fancy and very cheap. I built it out of material that I had around the place.

The frame is just built out of radiata 90mm x 35mm glued and bolted together with hex head coach screws. I first of all just put a sheet of 1800mm x 1200mm MDF on top of the frame and put an edge around the MDF out of Radiata.

I then decided to build up each side of the top with 5 lengths of 90mm x 35mm Radiata to create a well in the centre. I then mounted an el cheapo vice onto it.

Certainly nothing fancy but practical and meets my needs.

Notice the chain hanging at the end of the bench. I use them to lift the bench up with a couple of endless chains so I can get the cars into the garage.

    Thumbs up

Thats a novel solution to space shortage. Have an elephant stamp and go home five minutes early.

    Barry,

I like your bench, it is a decent size and you would not be afraid to do some serious work and worry about damaging it.

I also think your method of moving it out of the way is a very clever idea.

    Peter.
