Looking good Bob - that Cypress has come up a treat.
Maaaaaate - you're not doing this to please us (although you will). Spend as much time as you need working out the sneaky/crazy ideas because they'll be worth it in the long run.
I guess you've already figured out that you'll have to unplug whatever is in that power point to open the drawer. Sometimes that just the way it goes for the sake of other convenience.

Yep, even though the drawer in that particular pic isn't the right one, The power point arrangement was mark1. and is just sitting there in that space. Tomorrow will be spent working on mark2, which will probably see that PP sitting vertical to its present position.
Might be time to wet sand the front of the wall cabinet and having at it with my car buffer. Also, now that I've finally managed to get the first wall ledger up, I'm keen to finish the rest of the basic frame work too.
I just hope my old body can holdup a bit longer. Got a few pain issues to get through as well. Part of the price we pay for thinking we were indestructible during our younger days. All that sport and failing to stay upright on motorcycles tends to add up after a while. I think there's a hidden "off" switch in our bodies that gets thrown when we reach 60.

Thanks for all your encouragement guys, it always gives me a lift to know there are people whom I've never met, take an interest in even the littlest things I attempt in my never ending quest to make the most sawdust.
I suppose I do have a bit of a habit of trying to please others before looking after myself. That might explain why my kids have more money than I do. Then I was always taught that it's better to give than receive. If that's the case, by rights I should feel on top of the world.
Anyhow, I completed the power point mark 2 version today which took care of the access problems. The fact that it was raining most of the day, plus I got a bit of a late start on things this morning, (taking pain killers in the middle of the night doesn't make for a bright and bubbly personality the next morning) I was able to bring my work into the house and do some fiddly stuff while watching the dog chewing on a kangaroo bone and then sleeping the rest of the day away.
Living alone does have its advantages.........sometimes.
It was better than staying out in the shed listening to Ray Hadley and his mates talking football. Not that I have anything against Ray personally, especially having just called his morning show a week ago and having a bit of a chat with him.
I wanted to take a pic of today's progress, but it sort of seemed so insignificant that I thought it best to wait until I had something worth showing.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and I'll try to be a bit more productive this coming week.
All the best,
Bob

It ain't much, but it's progress.
Well it's all been detail work and damage control so far this week.
I fixed up my goof-up with the power point position and managed to throw in some little bits of trim around it while I was at it.
It gave me something to do after it got too cold and dark outside, so with it being just a small piece, I finished it off while sitting in front of the TV and the fireplace. One of the benefits of living alone is not having anyone to complain about bits of wood on the floor and sawdust floating around.
I'm working on a chisel rack now. I was going to put them inside one of the wall mounted cabinets, but decided to make a place for them inside the small window frame which doesn't get a lot of direct sun. Also, because of that choice, I'll be using western red cedar (scraps) to make it from which should handle any sun better than any other wood I have.

Don't ask me how I ended up with two copies of the same pic, but at least two are better than none at all. I'll blame it on my dog who has his head on my lap while I'm trying to type.

Anytime
NP Dave. Next time I'm heading up your way I'll be sure to let you know. I'd love to see both your sheds too.
I'll be sure to bring my "special" finishing brush with me.
Cheers,
Bob

It's certainly been a different weekend here for me and my visitors. Aside from my son and his family dropping in on Sunday as well as my son-in-law and his friend, my good mate from (my ex-)work, came and stayed for a few days.
It was a very difficult time for him as he'd just returned from his girlfriend/fiance's place on the Central Coast where, upon his arrival there, he found her in the house alone and barely alive, having ruptured a blood vessel on her oesophagus and had lost a lot of blood as was evidenced by the amount she had been throwing up.
Long story short, she died while he was trying to revive her even after the ambos had told him she was too far gone.
She had her own personal problems, but was a genuine and lovely person.
Consequently, even though we did get some minor work done together, my job was to keep him occupied and his mind on other things.
So in respect I am holding back my meagre progress pics for now and will post at a later date.
Rest in Peace Heather.
