    Default How to make curved architraves ?

    Hi all - need to make curved architraves for arched top doors.

    Dos anyone have any clues as to how to go about making them ?

    cut the radius of the arch in a flat sheet and then reproduce the profile, or take a ply template of the radius and source someone to do the profiling for you, most good timber yards can help with this as they have access to the suppliers, this can be done in either mdf or solid timber, but the solid timber will have joins to form the curve, just remember the with the quirk the radius will be slightly bigger than the internal radius of the window reveals if it has them heres some I did a few years ago the reveals on the arch were plastered unfortunately the windows were to close together to get a full arc each side which made it a little tricky
