Dawn No. 9 vice Install
I bought a beautiful second hand Dawn No. 9 vice but can't work out how to install it. It has two little angled supports welded on both sides that look as though they will get in the way of mounting the vice to the underside of a bench. I have Googled "how to" instructions a hundred different ways and nothing comes up.
Can anyone here help?

If they are the welded in brackets I'm thinking of that support the two plates at 90 degrees.
If so then you just have to hold the vice where you want to mount it and pencil mark either side of the brackets.
Then just chisel out the material so it can sit flush

Yes, those are the exact brackets I'm talking about. I've never seen one installed so had no idea. Seems like a strange little quirk.

Pretty much all cast type vices have webs to add strength, as said above just cut slots to suit.
