    Don't forget to source a second door to use as a lower shelf which will also give your bench the stability you'll need to work on it.
    Plus you'll need a skin for the top door to give you a good clear working surface.

    Will do. Only have the one solid door at the minute but I know of a recycle centre that has hundreds of old doors so will get a 2nd door for the lower shelf which as you say will add stability to the workbench.
