In line clamps for 20mm dog hole benches
20190618_121201.jpg
I was in the market for two pairs of in-line dog hole clamps. I looked at Festools with an obscene price of $190 ( https://www.carbatec.com.au/fixed-clamps-mft-sp ) and only Festool can get away with a price like that. I also looked at Armor tools ( https://www.timbecon.com.au/clamps-v...g-inline-clamp ) at about $109 a pair. I went to JustTools in South Melbourne and saw the Walko’s which were $90 a pair, a much more sensible price and they worked well. Their only problem was the shaft on the clamps was over 19mm and under 20mm so they were a lose fit in my 20mm holes and this fit caused the stock to lift when the clamp was tightened. I wrapped around some insulating tape and that solved the problem.
I then saw on line on www.banggood.com a Chinese knock off for an incredible $57 a pair delivered to Australia. Their advantage was that they had a thread and therefore you could lock them in with a knob below the table similar to the Festool’s. I also used insulating tape to have a nice tight fit when I didn’t want to lock them in from below. The bottom line is that both of these clamps do a great job and are a more than adequate alternative to the disgustingly priced Festools. The Chinese knock off’s are really good and are my go to clamps. I can’t speak yet on longevity
PS Should this post be in the Festool threads?
PPS "You get what you pay for" ..... Not in this case!

That's typical! Goes on special after I've bought them.
It was this video that got my interest and I'm glad I found it. Go to the 26 sec mark
