    Default New mobile work bench

Hi over the last couple of days i have almost designed, and made the work bench. Now the round plastic outdoor table can get the flick. Birthday in a couple of weeks , I wonder if the kids will think i need a vise (clamping variety - Engineers)

I wanted to be able to move it but at the same time i wanted it to sit on its legs when in use.
A requirement was to be able to put it anywhere and still be able to lower the wheels.
Another thing was to have 1/2 steel 1/2 wood top to be able to use either.

So i still need to plate the legs for feet, grind and paint and finish the bottom shelf. Another thought was maybe drawers or something on one end of the bottom shelf.

    Size 900mm high, 600mm wide, 1500mm long (steel 720 x 600mm timber 780mm x 600)

Cost - $158 for the steel, $42 for the wheels (2 fixed, 2 swivel - no brakes) $15 for the secondhand timber for the top - yep hit one nail with the thicknesser, borrowed welder from mate, finished the top in danish oil, boards for bottom from blackwood slabs i already had.

Anyway the wheel setup is a knock off of someone else's from the forum (thanks for that) Go for it and tell me the pro's & con's.

PS. My 17 yo daughter did a lot of the welding ( she won't learn any younger) might i say i ground more of mine than hers too.
    regards

    David

Looks good and practical, one that will actually get used and abused I reckon
