Moravian Workbench No2
The No 1 is still in the US (was built during a Woodwright's School class). And will serve as a side table.
So I had to build a second one.
I am new to woodworking. Much prefer handtools, but have some powertools. But having read here the danger of fine wood dust, I am not keen on getting all the heavy gear that requires a DC system.
Anyway, this new bench is exactly like No 1 except for the vices, where I went for the HNT combination. The wood is a mix of Blackbutt from the timber yard in Woodend, turpentine that I have left from building a woodshed, two small pieces of Ash and a few boards of I don't-remember-what for the tray.
Here is the Blackbutt (for legs, long stretchers, top, more ore less dressed). Turpentine (rough) not in this photo.

Top stretcher bridle joint. All by hand. Turpentine is tough but saws ok, even for an amateur.

Top and middle (through tenon) stretchers in one side of Leg 1.

Leg is resting against a nightstand that was almost finished.

Morticing: impossible the traditional hand brace and auger, had to use the powerdrill.

Legs dry-fit.

Long stretcher: tenon

After some fighting it goes in the mortice.

Now for the top. 2 heavy beams not quite the same thickness. No planer/thicknesser, impossible by hand for me. So I used the router and a quickly not very well built sled.

Post router. Made a terrible mess, as it was impossible to connect it to the vac. Fortunately, the shed is open to the elements.

It is actually pretty nice.

Looking good.
