And it's not a Berg it's a Titan. Have you guys heard of Titans at all?
Patrick Leach hadn't heard the name - over here they are legend-ish.

And yes - I was surprised by the webs - I'm in there most days - but then there has been a lot of work recently - really spoils the fun.

They're everywhere!! Are you sure he wasn't just pulling your leg? Then again, most of what he deals in is much older than that. When did they start, just after WW2?

He could have been - I have only communicated with him a couple of times - I thought it would be strange for there to be such a disconnect between Ozzie lore and the US scene when he's so experienced with it all.

I've gotta work, but I feel it in my bones that there will be deep wells of discussions in these forums about Titans - and some who will know their stuff by heart!

Those daddy long leg spiders which, I am led to believe, are imports from Europe are extremely weberocious and you can sweep their webs out today and they'll be back just as bad tomorrow. Thats my excuse anyway.
Looks like a Silex or mit-a-mit brace lying on the bench Paul, another couple of brands that Patrick Leach hasn't heard of, perhaps.

Hiya Chippy.

When I first saw it I was thinking of it for the wood - and/or that it deserved a decent resting place to end out its days - not carted off on a flatbed or whatever.

I then quickly realised I had the other beam ... and thought "hmmmm"

It pulled apart with little trouble. The plywood and the jarrah planks were nailed so kicked off easily. The nuts on the leg bolts were sitting at the ends of their bolts - so very little trouble to get the nuts moving and off.

And the three through bolts only took a half turn or so to tighten up again.

Yes infill the top with wood from the house beam. The oregon plains like butter if there's no knots, so the top could look quite nice. But it's very soft isn't it? ... so a reject jarrah slab on top of the oregon?

It'll have to sit outside - under some cover - would you ... drown it in BLO?

I'm still searching for a pic I remember of a with the legs angled at a significant angle .. 30 or 45 degrees ... I'll find it eventually.
