Brett, those non-slip shafts and morse taper inserts are way better than I thought they would be. It's a really great system. I'm glad I got them.

The job would have been much harder without them.

I've used the extensions extensively (?) but they can be damned hard to get apart when finished. Maybe I should wax the connection.

The weather today in melbourne was not conducive to Shed Time.

The temperature stayed in single figures and the wind was such that it would blow a bitch off heat. It was uncomfortable to staying the shed for any length of time.

I got a bit of cleaning up done and found some tools needed for the next stage and thought through the best way to do some of the next jobs coming up.

Tomorrow I am going to Wooddust Timber & Tool Marketplace | Wood Dust so not likely to get to the shed and the weather is expected to be worse then today so I guess Wooddust gives me a way to have a productive day.

I will get back to the workbench when the weather allows

    Aaaaagh!

It's white! That's the sort of weather you have to do a quick count to see if they have both dropped off.

It should provoke a chorus of "Brass Monkey Weather," which, as I'm sure you know, has nothing to do with male genitalia, but rather ironically much to do with a whole load of balls.

    Shiver your timbers.

    Cold regards

    Doug

I missed the initial posts on this thread and have only picked up on it since your move and subsequent return to bench building.

I do love a good bench build so looking forward to the developments once the weather is warm enough to flex your fingers again.

    Thanks Paul,

I just got back from Wooddust and had some lunch, the temperature is still a bit low but the wind has dropped which might make the shed habitable if I burn enough electrons. Two heaters runing now. I just might be able to do a bit this afternoon.

What is that white stuff you have decorated your backyard with Brett? Looks like it would be a good insulator on the shed roof.

4000 watts of heating running for 3 hours got the shed up to 12 degrees. I'm staying in the house where its a nice 21 degrees.

The bench can wait for another day

I think someone has turned off global warming in Katoomba, Oberon and a heap of other places!
