Vise screw question
found this in a rubbish pile and started cleaning it up. i haven't got a wood vise and want to make one with this.
my question is what is the pivot plate for i.e. what sort of vise is it off?
i want to make a quick-release ultimately but if this pivot style flange is rare i don't want to repurpose it or make it redundant if that makes sense.
cheers.IMG_20221110_170427397.jpgIMG_20221110_170359510.jpg

The elongated hole in the plate makes it look like it is only meant pivot in one plane. Might be suited to making a leg vice.
