    Default Vise screw question

found this in a rubbish pile and started cleaning it up. i haven't got a wood vise and want to make one with this.

my question is what is the pivot plate for i.e. what sort of vise is it off?

i want to make a quick-release ultimately but if this pivot style flange is rare i don't want to repurpose it or make it redundant if that makes sense.

The elongated hole in the plate makes it look like it is only meant pivot in one plane. Might be suited to making a leg vice.

thanks, yeah that crossed my mind as well.

was gonna try get the screw out of the t-piece but its pretty stuck, might re-pin it and just go buy some threaded rod, keep this for when i have leg-vise itch.
