Woodworking Newbie's workbench
Hi there,
I have mademy first ever workbench and being new to woodworking I'm quite chuffed with myself (I'll post a photo when I can).
I have used our old entrance door and some fencing posts for legs and hoop pine for the frame. I have glued some 6mm mdf on top to give the bench a smooth working surface. All in all it's seems very solid.
What can I use on the mdf benchtop to protect the working surface ?

Hi Ozzie,
Anything cheap and nasty - mistinted stain/varnish at Bunnings, any floor finish, something sitting in the back of the shed going off, anything at all, really. Just something to let the glue pop off the bench and not set in to the surface.
You'll need to lightly scuff/sand off the wax coating to let the finish penetrate.
Cheers,
eddie
