    I assume you used a sheet of plywood for the top. How did you attach this to the bench. I'm in the progress of building g a very similar bench (modular type) and still running different methods around in my head to get to top attached securly .

    Yes I used a 2' x 8' x 3/4" thick piece of plywood on the top. Short screw go up from the bottom of the 2x4's to hold the plywood down.
    Norm on the new yankee workshop videos is what inspired this and he shows how to build the top which I did very similar. The videos are on you tube I think. You pretty much have to watch them.

    I watched norms videos about a year ago and rewatched these ones a few weeks ago. I believe norm screwed from the top and then overlayed a masonite piece over top.

    By the way good job with the bench. I am in the process building something the same but I am using 17mm plywood that has a black/layer on the outside already

    That's right, I forgot he did that. The top I made looks nice but is too soft. Something harder would have been a good idea.
    I've just never had good luck screwing into the end of plywood.
    You should start a thread and post some pics of your bench and good luck with the build.
