    Default Workbench with mounted router

    I have a workbench 1800 x 800 with a mounted table-saw.
On the other end, I want to mount my router. Is it best to have it mounted lengthways (the same as my table saw) or have it going across my table?

I would say it depends on how you intend to run the fence. Traditionally router tables are wider than they are longer; although there are notable exceptions such as when an Incra fence is used as that requires a fair chuck of real estate to the rear. Where is the most convenient position to stand and pass timber over the cutter?

Agreed. And can the saw bench fence be persuaded to multitask ..... and double up as the router fence?

    Default Fence

I was going to go for a long home-made table saw fence that i can use for my router as well.
Shouldn't be any problems with that........
Not sure if i should mount the router halfway down the table or the end. I am thinking halfway in case i need to work on some longer pieces.
And........I am thinking of using a car scissor-jack underneath my GMC Plunge Router to use for adjusting the height.

i can contribute some info on combined router table + table saw fence... The Very Super Cool Tools fence system came about by this guy's investigations, check out what he did for his massive table.... this is his youtube channel, and this is the playlist for the whole series (it's looong) of building it...
