Default 1st Rose engine decorated box

Thought I would have a go at box making using some odd bits of timber before attacking any of the expensive stuff.
This is my 1st attempt, not overly happy with the proportions but this ornamental turning business has a steep learning curve.....
Wood is holly, no finish (yet).

The cut is not too bad especially if I get the cut in the right direction to the grain, I have some 1/8" cobalt rod (broken burrs) which sharpens up nicely on a diamond wheel (although I could probably improve the cut by finishing the cutter with some finer grade laps).
Decisions- decisions - spend my meagre pocket money on diamond laps or rum & baccy????
