Experienced spindle turners usually turn at higher RPM to get a better cut.
When turning off-centre, it is easier to read the shadow.
A 300mm bowl turning at 1000 rpm has a peripheral speed twice that of a 50mm spindle turning at 3000 rpmJohn

Cool! Looks extra tricky cos the light frequency making the pieces visually oscillate.
