    Thumbs up An inspirational site

    Hi fellas,
I just came back from a woodmachine expo in Finland. They also had a display of fine woodwork. Try www.puuseppamestarit.fi This really is one word in Finnish.
I just tried to find the photos that I saw at the Expo and even though I can read Finnish I couldn't find the photos. I'll follow up and give you clearer directions. Sorry,
    Yogi

Why don't people reply to queries? I sent an email to the director of the site that same evening and still haven't received a reply.

Might just be one of those folks who only check their e-mail once a month. Another possibility is site directorship might be temporarily empty. I don't read Finnish, so I'm hesitant to boink any of the links. Just in case, did you write your message in Finnish or English? or both?

Found this by brute force and ignorance: http://www.puuseppamestarit.fi/sorvi...bum/index.html

Do these photos look familiar? They seem to be from 2005. There are a few examples of spiral work.

The parent (http://www.puuseppamestarit.fi/sorviseura/) has a button for English, describes woodturning club.

    Hi Joe,
Yes, Joe the photos that I saw were from 2005 because the 2006 ones hadn't been updated yet. In answer to you Question about Finnish and English. I was born in Finland and live in Australia, and at present on holidays in Finland. I speak both, and write Finnish poorly an' mi inglish iz abit crook two. I haven't tried again recently but it sounds like you were able to look at the gallery. Is that true?
May all your turns be good ones.

Yes, Yogi. The sorvi..whatever link has a "galleria" link; that takes you to a single picture from the album, and a link immediately below the picture takes you to the entire album (2 pages). Only the first page has significant OT work; the 2nd page has an almost OT item, but I think it was carved.

The links in my 9 Nov post bypass the home page.

    Thanks Mate,
You're a Legend. Speaking of legends, I hope you aren't too upset about a Foreigner using the name of one of your National Icons as a Nickname but Aussies can't say Jouko so I ended up with the nickname of Yogi back in 1966 and it stuck.
    Thanks again,
    Yogi

You give too much praise to this lowly god-like sage.

I thought you were a yoga-type yogi. But no sweat about "our" bear. He's probably an international asset by now.
