150mm Smirdex 750 Net Sanding Discs
I’m sick of standard sanding discs. After getting the opinion of members and a bit of research I’ve bought a selection of Smirdex discs (thanks qwertyu). Best buy was in boxes of 50 and they’ll take me forever to use so I thought I’d offer some here to share the love. So if you've wanted to try them without spending a fortune here's your chance.
These are high quality discs featuring a ceramic abrasive. They were primarily developed for the auto repair industry so will easily cope with whatever we woodies can throw at them. There are four grits – 120, 180, 240 and 400. Selling in lots of 5 discs of each grit, so 20 discs, with a Mirka pad saver for $30.50 delivered Australia wide by Australia Post as a large letter. In case you’re wondering that’s cost. Only 6 lots available, first in best dressed.
If you’re interested post on this thread and PM me.

All paid for and dispatched, thanks guys. Chief, I ordered these from BC Coatings, the prices on the website are ex-GST and you need to ring the Sydney branch on 02 9729 2279 for non-account orders. Maybe you could do what I've done and offer the excess around, it would seem that there is likely to be further interest. You'd need to check the freight to Bundaberg though, they charged me $27.50 to Albury, which I thought was pretty exxy.

Hi, I’m keen to know whether these are good as Mirka’s Abranet?

Not wishing to push any agenda - these are availability from a car-refinishing mob I use all the time. They regularly have sales called "Tightarse Tuesdays". One must subscribe to their infrequent newsletter.

They are absolutely excellent.
Ive found however, the 40 and 60 grit are so powerful, they equate more to using a Arbortech grinding disk! Used on an angle they absolutely grind timber like a bastard file. It is MOST EXCELLENT! On gnarly horrid timbers, like paint cleanup of recycled stuff or sleepers, they are wonderful. The backing pad, however, sticks so aggressively to the velco it tears itself apart when trying to remove it..... SO! Use it for the whole job all at once, cos it really doesnt want to be taken off the sander! (this is a good thing!)
Danny Lee, Mirka Abranet are my all time favourite. 120 grit is very special to me Its the very best. One can skip entire grades of paper and they seemingly last forever.
AlDav and Fence Furniture put me on to both. Kudos!
EDIT - RIGHT NOW, as in TODAY, they are having an amazing deal. A heavy discount, free post, GST included in the prices AND a further 20% off. Crazy.

That's a good price wP. With the 20% off the price comes down to $39.60 compared to the $39.05 I paid. The free freight is the thing that would really make a difference. They don't seem to have the pad protectors though and from what I understand they're a necessity.
