Room Air Cleaner - Carbatec 1/3hp plus HEAP of excellent filters
Cleaning out the storage!
This is an excellent condition CT 1/3 HP room cleaner.
This thing is a BEAST.
It is clean as a whistle.
It has been upgraded from the crappy/compromised bags/filter that comes with it and have installed the schmickest filters on the market.
This is the sales spiel on CT Carbatec Room Air Filter - 1/3HP with 5 Micron Filter | Carbatec
The first "bulk" dust filter are MERV8's
Nordic Pure MERV 8 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filter, Box of 6, 20x24x1: Heating & Cooling: Amazon.com.au
There are two fitted (marked as an outer/inner) so as to work the most efficiently. The "outer" is the first to be tossed when it clags, the "inner" is then promoted, with a fresh one inserted behind to become the new "inner". Hope this makes sense. This is what the HVAC dudes at Bison recommended to get maximum airflow and capture literally everything.
These have been LUCKY to have an hours use. There are FOUR spares in the box (pictured).
The second big 4" filter is a MERV13 (f7) Megapleat.
MERV13 PLEATED FILTER, MERV 13 (F7), 594 X 594 X 94MM (24 x 24 x 4") - Bison Filters
This filter was specified as being about a BILLION times better than the included offering.
Additionally, there is a box with the original filters(s) if you ever feel like going back.....
The result of these upgrades? Much, much, MUCH cleaner air, with better airflow and a dramatic drop in noise. The noise level of this went from annoying, to barely noticeable, all while breathing better and offering maximum cleaning (as an aside, there is a thread somewhere here where I talked of this in detail and there were many excellent suggestions from BobL)
PICKUP?
Can be collected from Fyshwick Canberra from my storage shed. Just nominate a civilised time
DELIVERY?
Yes. I'm happy to box this. It will be sent as three via whatever happens to be the cheapest offering on either e-go.com.au or TransDirect.com.au
While it will not be expensive, it is big and heavy. I'd guess around $70 for city slickers.
Pickup postcode is 2611 WRIGHT and the boxes will be:
-- 113 x 63 x 52 @ 30kg
-- 50 x 60 x 12 @ 2 kg
-- 60 x 60 x 10 @3 kg
We can work together or you can book it yourself once boxed. Happy either way whichever matches your comfort level I've done this 1000 times, literally.
edit - Ive estimated 30kg for the machine, based on a guess. I need to confirm.
I'm looking for $900.
Its all going toward my hand tool addiction
Now! Pictures!
You'll note the filters are out of order. This was done so the first two filters were not damaged during the move. No biggie, just pop them back in the front.

Yikes Smiife, that's a fair chunk of change to your place.
Attached.... but its $221 via Ego. This is the cheapest.
Sending it to a depot is no cheaper either.... I checked with the ones that surround you and it knocks only $5 off!
If I put everything inside of the machine and consolidate it into on box, it reduces to $203
These are my discount prices, as can be seen. I charge only what they do. No extra padding.
For others, simply visit the site and use the magic calculator. This will be the MAXIMUM. As can be seen I receive a healthy discount. I'll always confirm with you and charge the lower number. This is the way.
To do the calc, pickup postcode is 2611 WRIGHT and the boxes will be:
-- 113 x 63 x 52 @ 30kg
-- 50 x 60 x 12 @ 2 kg
-- 60 x 60 x 10 @3 kg
Sometimes one can get a decent discount to collect it from a local depot. Have a look and see if there is one close to you. Pricing isn't as low as pre-COVID. My guess is they dont want too many zombies turning up at the distro

I'll leave this up for a while. It's a good unit.
If you have an interest, pop me a note and perhaps we can arrange a sale.
The courier prices are something I can drive down with careful packing.

STOP THE PRESS....see next post (cheaper)...
Armidale is not cheap
113 x 63 x 52 @ 35kg via pallet interparcel is more than the cleaner.... TransDirect is a nope to deliver there... E-go is the default with a $237 door-to-door and the pallet service to a local depot is INVERELL, 2360 is $203
Find the best depot from this list, I guessed it --> Interstate Courier, Courier Services, Freight Service, Freight Services
Looks like it isn't too economical to get massive boxes to Armidale!
Pricing seems to be changing rapidly right now. I don't know why - but we can guess (fuel, covid, FUD). I found this with another big parcel recently... a previously cheap place was now expensive.
To save money, I'll put all the parcels/packages INTO the main box. I'll pack them well, but it will save the cubic-metre rates.

Inconceivably, using Interparcel, SPLITTING it into 3 different parcels gives a better price.
Inconceivable.
Anyway, attached is the quote
