    Default American Timber Mallet

    DSC00790.jpgDSC00792.jpgDSC00794.jpgDSC00793.jpg

This mallet has been crafted from American hardwood timbers, the handle is American White Oak, the head is Black Walnut and the inlay is Black Walnut and Rock Maple and a little brass and Black Walnut at the top of the handle. Finish is Tung Oil and beeswax.
Length from base of handle to top of the mallet head is 310 mm, the head is 150 x 75 x 70 mm and it weighs in at 655 grams (including handle) making it a very versatile medium to heavy mallet. The mallet has a second grip position higher up the handle for lighter controlled hits for that delicate work
Included is a leather thong on the handle and optional leather faces for the business ends of the mallet (these can be fixed before postage or included loose)
Well seasoned timber was used in the making of this heirloom mallet and this is a fine woodworking tool that you will be able to pass on to your son and he to his grandsons.
Price is $120 including postage within Australia (yes I know that is expensive for a mallet but these reflect 7 - 8 hours of my work and the timber, and it will last many generations with a little love and beeswax. Apart from looking rather spectacular)

That's an awesome buy, your price is pretty spot on Dave. Especially considering the prices of mallets sold at the likes of Timbecon/carbatec.
