Carbatec 6" 150mm Jointer - Model: CTJ-196 - Planer
CTJ-196 Carbatec Jointer for sale, with very little use and in excellent condition. Most parts and elements are in mint condition. My CTJ-196 is a later model with the raised stop button and newer colours. Includes the original instruction booklet. Blades are in great condition, but may need to be sharpened (images attached). Everything else is ready to go.
A few very small rust spots on the bed, but easy to remove. The jointer was used only for a few small projects since it was bought. Selling only due to floor space requirements for a new tool, otherwise I would hold onto this jointer. It was always a pleasure to use.
This model is almost identical to the current Carbatec JN-150C 150mm Deluxe Jointer RRP$1179 - apart from the colours, there is little to no difference.
Note: to use this jointer you must have a suitable dust extractor.
If not sold here in the week or so, will move it to other sale sites.
Pick up from Balwyn North, 3104 only. Can help load/disassemble if required.
Price $750

Hello Girius, I'm interested in taking this jointer off your hands. I'm not local so wondered if this disassemble enough to fit on a pallet?
Any idea of the total weight?

I've got one of these and it works a treat. I upgraded the cutter head to a helical a couple of years ago and it works even better on hard wood; better finish, less noise and nowhere near as much blade sharpening.
I can recommend it to anyone looking to get their 1st jointer. It was my first one about 10 years ago and I've still got it.
Cheers
Bryan

Hi Girius, I've just become a member here and I sent you a message yesterday asking about your Carbatec 6" 150mm Jointer. I'm not a regular forum or social media user, so I'm not sure if the message got to you.
We have an old Carbatec 15" thicknesses that is still going after nearly 20 years. I would like a similar quality jointer as well.
My only barrier is distance, as im in central NSW (2849). I wondered if you would disassemble and strap to a pallet for me? If that's ok, I need to know the weight to get a price.
Do you have the weight in the user manual?
Are we able to share contact details so I can call you?
Regards
Joshua

Hi Joshua.
I guess it may be possible. But I do not have a pallet and I'm also guessing I would need to build a structure around it. There is no weightin the booklet, but assuming it is that "same" and the current model, I think it weighs 105kg.
I'll PM you my number.
But for now this is still up for sale pending the possibility of organising the transport.

Still Open for sale...
Due to high shipping cost to NSW, the Jointer is still for sale. As noted, it will be listed elsewhere (Gumtree, FB and Forums) at the end of the week.
As a bonus, for a total of $700 I can include a Starrett 1000mm Ruler C636-1000 (New in packaging) - sells for over $500 at some retailers in Australia.

Hi Girius, how small do these disassemble down to? Have a hankering for a jointer but can't work out if it'd fit in the back of the car (Mazda CX5)

When I bought it, it did fit in a Volvo wagon. But that boot is quite big.
I think it should fit in a CX 5 with the seats down.
What area do you live in? I'm in North Balwyn, if you are close by, you could come and check it out.
I just checked it out, it seems most of the "larger" parts come off with just a couple bolts.

Hi Girius, I'm out of iso. I'll happily take the unit if it's still available.
