Default N.S.W. Carbatec 6 inch Jointer

Up for sale I have a Carbatec 6 inch jointer, model ctj-196. This has been a great machine for me and it works as it did when it was new (with the exception of needing some new blades). I am only selling it on as I recently finished up a new workshop and got the bigger 8 inch one. The unit has picked up a few minor blemishes which in my experience don't affect its performance. There is a small chip in the plastic box on the end of the arm with the on/off switch. The metal pin which turns and locks the fence in place was lost and I replaced it with a bolt but it still functions exactly the same. I don't have the room for two jointers and would be happy to see it go for $420 Ono1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

i guess I should have asked the real question then

How old is the thing? From your pics I can't see a date on the build plates.

I'm (very) local to you, and somewhat interested - not sure I can get approval though. I'll start negotiations!

Poundy, I really can't say how old it is. I didn't even think to ask the fella I bought it off. The serial number and manufacturing dates are both blank on the badges. If you are close I'd be only too happy to pop it in my van and help with delivery etc! Cheers nicko

Nicko, I am at this stage not going to commit to the purchase. In the not too distant future I intend to move to regional NSW and so am thinking I'll add a unit like this after that, rather than have to add it to the already significant pile needing to head north with me.
