Hi Robyn, I've heard on numerous occasions these morticing attachments never work perfectly on a drill press. I would be interested if you could convince me otherwise

I would also consider putting the item in the title rather then "cleaning up clutter" which sounds like it could be multiple items in one thread..... instead its not

Depends on your drill press… I have one of these and it works fine but that’s because it was mounted on a 40yo Brobo Waldown; solid as a rock. Probably the biggest issue is with the tables; if your table can flex under the force of the quill coming down then these mortise attachments won’t work very well.

I'm assuming the collar attaches to the quill and not the body of the drill. I have a waldown type 8 SN Series 3

That’s correct; the collar attaches to the quill. The kit comes with a few plastic reducing collars to accomodate different diameter quills; I didn’t like them and turned one up in brass. If you measure up your quill diameter I’ll check to see how the collars will fit your drill.
I’m not sure what model Brobo mine is other than it was made around 1980 and is fitted with their mechanical infinitely variable speed control so no messing around changing belt ratios!Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

They do work on a good quality drill press.
I just upgraded to a Nova Voyager and it works very well on that, after I got the quill collar bored out an extra millimeter so it would fit.
It worked "adequately" on the old Carbatec press, meaning I would usually do the last millimeter or so of width with a hand chisel.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Ok; yours is quite different to mine and unfortunately you won’t be able to fit this item.
