Dawn quick release vice #225
Have had this sitting around for a few years meaning to attach to bench. Doesn't look like i'll ever get around to doing it so out it goes.
I pulled it all apart and cleaned it when I got it and worked smoothly, needs another clean up but still functions fine.

At a rough guess I would say $40 - $50 just for postage. It would also need a very strong box, $?
I wouldn't be able to do it till after Christmas or maybe even next year.
If interested I can look into it then but if someone local wants it it will be their's.
cheers
Shane

Dawn vice
That's works for me, I'm in no rush, I think all it would take is some thickish cardboard wrapped roughly around it using some gaffing tape, it's very unlikely to get damaged, if it was a vase I might be worried. Cheers

Build a plywood box to put it in, pack it all around with cardboard, then screw the lid on with heaps of screws, I’ve done it before like this, even put a couple of rope handles on it, arriving safely.

Hi Shane, I think your right with selling it locally, it's very ambitious trying to get it up here. Postage cost make it unviable

Couriers
Not buying, but spreading the love....
Couriers are an outstanding option.
Just hazarding a guess at 15kg @ 50x20x20 Syd to Bris is $15.13 (11.50 if Platinum) with EGO and ~$20 with Couriers Please which are a multi-courier comparison site....
CP is tracked and insured ($1000). Ego, though cheaper, are more of a heavy-lift kind of company. They are like elephants... they take Big and Heavy but are slower, but CHEAP.
BTW, this is just to help out. I use both (all) as part of my buying and its saved me an absolute fortune.

I'd wholeheartedly endorse WP's comments.
Aus Post are fine for smaller and lighter things, once you start getting into heavy and large, it's not what Aus Post appear to want to handle, and therefore price themselves accordingly. The two sites WP listed are awesome for getting large and/or heavy things to where they need to do very affordably.
