Delta Lathe Model 1460
This is a pretty cool heavy old cast iron lathe made in USA. I bought it only a few months ago (paid $450 for the lathe) but never got around to setting it up properly and have the Oyster Bay turners club just down the road so I think I'm going to just head down there to do any turning. I made the stand for it a couple of years ago (when I first got into woodworking ) to these plans Ultimate Lathe Stand | Popular Woodworking Magazine and it took quite bit of timber and a couple of days so I think there is some value there.
It is a very solid stand and in my case made from some old pine I got out of a school canteen bench as well as some plywood. The stand is included in this sale. It also comes with 2 face plates, one for the outboard side has velcro on it and was previously used as a disc sander. I think the motor is a 1/2hp but it is a single phase 10amp jobbie. There are a few issues with the motor as far as I can tell. The first is that it needs a bit of encouragement to start to spin, when I flip the juice on it sometimes kind of hums at me until I give the piece bait of a spin and then it takes off. The second is that somewhere in the assembly there is some vibration especially at higher speeds. The actual peice of timber the motor is mounted too has split where the previous owner tec screwed in a hinge and therefore has quite bit of movement in it. The belt also has some spots where it is frayed. I suspect the vibration is coming from these issues and possibly causing the motor not to be aligned correctly. I just don't really have the patience to tinker around with it and would rather have the space for something else. I'd like to see $ 450 for these items.

I don't really know what this is worth but I'll entertain offers on this one!
