Just a little bit of extra information to assist your sale of what looks to be a very tidy back saw at a reasonable price. Being a brass back model it makes it a Disston No.5, which is not nearly so commonly seen as the steel back versions (No.4), The Americans appeared to prefer steel backs normally and I think many of the brass back may have been destined for export. This is the complete opposite to the Brits, who liked their backs big and brassy!
I can't see the medallion clearly, but I think it will either have the word "Phila" (1917 - 1940) or "USA" (1941 - 1947) on it.
You might like to measure the length of the tooth line and count the number of ppi (points per inch) to provide more information
Good luck.

Thanks Paul
Attached are some photos of the saw. It is 14 inches long and looks to be 12 points to the inch. This was my grandfathers so any addition info would be appreciated

G’day Graham
I’ve indicated in your for sale thread regarding the Disston Saws that I’ll take the backsaw, but still haven’t heard anything from you. I can see that you’ve been active and posting more stuff for sale.
Could you please reply via the for sale thread as per Market Place rules to keep everything within the rules.
Thank you

As indicated, my preference was for local pick-up as the buyer can inspect the quality of the saw. If no local response by Friday (tomorrow) I will look at Postage options.
