•which size cutters the machine comes with?
•does it have the systainer?
•a little more info on the ‘bag of biscuits’ (which sizes, hows many, hardwood or soft?)
•condition? Is the equipment in clean, good order? (Pics would really help)

But is it a 500 or an XL?

It might be a (clapped out or years old) 500, in which case I wouldn't consider $1200 at all realistic given they're around 1600 new, but if it was an XL in good nick, $1200 is great.

I don't mean to offend but if you're a woodworker you should then be able to appreciate when trying to sell something that at the very least can be expected by the prospective buyers a description and some sort of pics indicating the condition and what is actually being sold!

No pics, no details provided, not even a model number? You don't need to be an IT person the provide that!

I think you guys are being a bit harsh here.
He’s selling it for a mate and I know what a daunting exercise it is negotiating online stuff if you’re not into the type of stuff. I’m not and really struggle with it at times.
That being said, as it’s being sold for a mate who’s a member of a club surely there is other club members who can do the picture bit for our seller.
I know someone in Murbah who could do it in a snap but due to his medical history hasn’t and won’t be interacting with anyone until this Covid 19 thing is over.

I didn't know there where two models. The DF500 is ~$1700 (left hand side below pic) and the DF700 XL is $2,375 (right hand side below pic) new.

I would love one of these but is complete over kill as a hobbiest! I've got a Makita biscuit jointer and have been surprised how strong the joints are. I made this mobile trolley which will take a ~150kg Wolfenden saw (pics below). I made another frame much the same which my 250kg jointer/thicknesser sits on which doesn't have the metal angling but rather the castors are screwed directly to the wood underneath.

The Festool Domino joints as I understand it are much stronger from some Googling I did a year ago. But at a cost of the machine and the cost of the tenon biscuits you would want to be getting your monies worth and be using it a lot.

In way not telling you guys anything new on here. Happy hunting and hope Tweed Woody you sell the machine to a good home If I win lotto I'll be buying up some Festool gear!

Please reply to this post with as much detail as possible;

• Model number should be on the machine
• Condition (excellent, very good, well used, poor, etc)
• Accessories
• Is it in a systainer box ( pale coloured hard plastic box)
• Any other information that would help you to sell it.
• Photo if you can get someone to take and put on here for you.

Unfortunately the bare basics that you have put on here probably won't get it sold for you.

You don't need to have anything to do with IT to respond to questions. Might only take a couple of minutes to respond and it may make a sale for the family of your deceased club member.

Hey mate don't take the comments as criticism but a little more is needed to know whether a good deal. For example, some bags of dominos without a photo giving an idea of how many... those things can be really expensive. A beginners' box I think goes for $299 when on sale.

Also genuinely to try and assist, in terms of price you might want to take into account that Festool heavily market long-term warranties and have a good reputation. It has been very good for me - I had a problem with one, someone drove to my house, picked up, delivered it back not long after repaired. All free. When you're paying that much for a fairly specific-use tool, paying $1200 for something with no warranty vs $1600 with a good five-year warranty might be offputting to some people.

I am not trying to persuade you to lower the price but just thought that might assist in deciding on the appropriate price. (NB I already have one so definitely no self-interest here.)

Hi Woody,

Provided the tool has all the required bits and pieces; then I will take it.

I am assuming the assortment of dominoes was the starter kit, which also includes the 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10mm cutters and a sustainer box.

Once you get some time to sort out the gear and have a poke around to confirm all the items are there, please let me know.
