Default Dowelmax - The ultimate doweling jig

    Dowelmax.jpg20210330_120806.jpg20210330_120800.jpg

This, too me is the ultimate doweling jig for the amateur or pro. (excludingMafell and Lamello over $2000) The accuracy, alignment and strength are phenomenal. The only rival in this class is the Jessem. A friend of mine has the Jessem and we compared them and he says the Dowelmax is better as everything is referenced off edges, guide pins and guide rods and the only time you use pencil markings are for shelf joints in a cabinet. For years I have wanted a quality joining system and it narrowed to this or the Festool Domino. The Dowelmax is expensive but compared to the ridiculously expensive Domino its very cheap for what It delivers. There are many threads on Dowelmax vs Domino and nearly all of them have said it depends on budget but if you can afford it then buy the Domino. Hard to justify as a hobbyist. The only advantage of the Domino, in my opinion, is speed. The Dowelmax joints are just as accurate and just as strong depending on the number of dowels used but the jig must be reconfigured, which is easy, for face drilling. See videos on Dowelmax site. Dowelmax Precision Engineered Dowel Jig Systems and Router Lifts

I’ve used the cheap doweling jigs including the one from Bunnings but alignment and accuracy are hit and miss and some of the projects I’ve done over the last year needed neat joints certainly not pocket holes.

The reason for selling is my wonderful family is buying me the Domino as a birthday present. I’ve definitely dropped enough hints over the years but I still absolutely love the Dowelmax and would buy again in a heartbeat.

Mine was bought this year for over $500 but that included all added accessories including the 6mm and 8mm kits and the 45 degree plate for doweling miter joints and an L bracket for shelf joints. Missing from the images is the indexing rod as its still in my home-made box. Yes, this box was made with the Dowelmax and you’ll notice the joints are perfect using the 8mm kit and 16mm MDF. You might also notice my home made stop collar adjustment jig. This is included.
Will sell for $350 including postage or less for pickup in west Gippsland

Jim, I haven't heard from you.
    Do you still want it?
You replied first so it's still yours but let me know as soon as possible (this morning would be good) so I know whether to take it off the market or not.
