    Default Dust Extractor, heavy Duty

Industrial 2HP Dust Extractor 12amp, single phase.

    EDIT 16 April

I bought this from a cabinet shop that was closing down. It was wired with a 15amp plug and I have run it off a 20 amp power outlet ever since.
As a result of replies to the OP I have today had my neighbour the sparkie put a 10amp plug which we have tested and found to work. The unit works on a standard 10 amp outlet.

Comes with 1 new and 1 near-new filter bag plus 2 plastic waste bags.
Solid steel chute from impeller to collector, this unit does not use flexible hose that reduces efficiency. You can see how hard it sucks by the dimples in the bend in the chute.
Comes with a long lead so you can shift it around your workshop if needed.
Works great, pick up at Shellharbour.

    $275 or offer

might need to change your description as well, you have it listed as a 20amp.... when the build plate says 12

Probably a 20 amp plug for inrush current

Thanks for the comments, I run it on a 20amp and have never tried it on a 15, so prefer to "fully disclose" rather than have a guess.
Someone with more electrical knowledge than I may be able to confirm that a 15amp will do.

2HP is 1500W, which is completely doable from a regular 10Amp supply (2400W available). Could be wrong but based on the pictures, it appears to cabled and plugged for use on a 10A supply.

How is it that the rating plate states 2hp @ 12a?

Even allowing for excessive inrush current surely one of them must be incorrect?

Chinese horsepower. The motor plate says 2HP output. AC input is 12A which is the equivalent 2900W (rounded). That would mean the motor is at best around 50% efficient and gets really hot with 1400W being turned into heat..
Given it’s nothing more than a fan (minimal resistance to rotation), and 1500W seems about the right size for a dust extractor of that size (and it appears to cabled and plugged for a 10A circuit) I’m guessing the current nominated on the data plate is the inrush current.

Regardless, looks like a pretty good unit for the price.

I measure as much as 35A as an inrush current for 2HP DCs.
