Would you be willing to mount it on a pallet (lying on its back) for shipping? If so, could you provide estimated shipping dimensions for me to source some quotes?

Also, can you confirm that it only has a 2hp motor? It seems small for a bandsaw of that size. How does it cope with re-sawing hard hardwoods?

    Kind regards,
    Lance

Hi Lance. I’ll send a PM with further details but in brief:

    1. shipping on a pallet is ok. Happy to help with those arrangements.
    2. You need not worry about the motor size. I’ve resawed veneers regularly on this machine up to 250mm+ and it is amazing. With a Lenox carbide blade you won’t need any more power. This is a fabulous professional quality machine.

Thank-you for your response and PM with the dimensions. I have spent this morning trying to get a reasonable quote, but the best I can manage is just over $700, which makes it unfeasible. Additionally, the bandsaw would need to be "shrink wrapped" and have a forklift available at pickup.

Had I been on the mainland, I would have happily made a road trip of it.

I guess not everything about living in Tasmania can be perfect. I will continue to make some inquiries, but at this stage, it seems unlikely that I will be able to make it work. Sorry, and good luck with the sale.

    Kind regards,
    Lance

Have you thought about posting here: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f259 in case there are folks making the trip with vehicles on the Spirit of Tasmania and willing to bring it across for you?

I know it's a long shot, but you never know...

Thanks for the update Lance. I have now had a commitment from a local buyer to purchase the bandsaw which i’m now suggesting is sold. If anything changes I will update this post.
