    Default Festool dominoes

I have 3 x complete kits of Festool dominoes. Each quantity retails for $38 each, making each kit worth $228 (6x packs).I’m asking $110 for each kit which contains 1255 domino tenons.

Please note these kits are made up by me to make up the quantity as you’d buy from Festool. So they’re not in the sealed unopened packs that you’d usually get.

    The kits contain the following:

    4mm x 20mm: 450 quanity
    5mm x 30mm: 300
    6mm x 40mm: 190
    8mm x 40mm: 130
    8mm x 50mm: 100
    10mm x 50mm: 85

I can post Australia wide at buyers expense.

    Cheers,
    Andy

Unfortunately, I wouldn't have a use for a whole kit, but I wanted to make it known I would be quite keen on the smaller sizes (4mm, 5mm and 6mm) in case someone else is keen on the larger sizes and we can work out a "buyers split" amongst us, or, if there are no takers on the whole kits, Andy, and you wanted to split them out to individual packs.

Good luck with the sale - I truly suspect you'll have a good number of takers!

Andy, I would like to take a box or 2 if postage is not too expensive. Thanks.

Hi Andy - appreciate, but no need - and apologies if the intent behind my post wasn't clear (I tend not to be too clear when typing sometimes!).

I was simply putting it out there that is there was someone who was keen, but only wanted the larger sizes, us two buyers could then take and split a pack. Obviously if you weren't going to sell them as straight kits, that might appeal to you too.

All that said, I truly suspect you've got a sharp, good value deal here, and won't have trouble selling all of them (i.e. please do so if you can!)

    Hey MM,

I'd may be interested in splitting a kit with you. I seem to use the 8mm and 10mm the most. And to complicate the situation, I have an unopened pack of 4mm x 20mm which I don't think I can use. I have the 700XL and even with the adapter for the bits for the 500, I don't think it will do the 4mm because its minimum plunge is 15mm. In other words, 30mm long dominoes are the smallest it can do. I'd be willing to throw my pack of 4mm dominoes into the mix if you're interested. I would need postage to Brisbane but i'd also be paying for postage to you for the pack of 4mm. Let me know what you reckon is a fair split.

    Cheers,
    Mike.

    Default Festool dominoes

    Hi Mike,

You can limit the travel of the domino by placing a PVC shim around the shafts. I’ve done this before and it works great. For example, if you only want to plunge 10mm, and the minimum plunge is 15mm, place a 5mm long PVC pipe (slightly larger in diameter than the shaft) and it will limit the travel.

In regards to splitting the packs, I’m happy to send to either one of you. I’ll do the kit for $100 plus postage. MM,, if you’d like 4,5 and 6mm sizes, that’ll be $50. Mike, for the 8mm (40mm and 50mm lengths, and 10mm, that’ll also be $50 plus postage. I’m also happy to send the whole kit to either one of you and you can split it between you.

    Regards,
    Andy

Thanks Andy. I'll take the 8mm and 10mm packs please. PM incoming.

EDIT: and thanks for tip with the PVC shim. I'll be sure to use this when I need to use the 4mm domino. Cheers.

    Hi Andy and Mike,

Mike, I'm very delighted to split this pack with you, thank you for offering this!

Andy, many thanks for offering to split up the pack and post separately. May I please add that I think it's fair for me to pay $60 (plus any postage), and Mike to pay $40 (plus any postage) - I see that there are 5 domino sizes here, the larger the domino size, the fewer dominos you get (this is per Festool pricing too) - I feel in this situation that if I am taking 3 sizes, I should pay 3/5ths cost, and likewise for Mike, if he's taking 2 sizes, then 2/5ths of cost is fair. I hope I'm not stepping on toes by suggesting this, and I hope that you both would be happy with that proposal?

Mike, I would also be very keen to take your pack of 4mm dominos, these are ones I use quite often. If you could let me know what you'd like for them, we can make appropriate arrangements.

As far as post/delivery is concerned, I am comfortable with the pack being split by Andy and posted separately, or the whole pack being sent to Mike, and he can then split my dominos, add the 4mm ones he has, and post it all to me. If we go that way, I would like to propose that Mike and myself share the cost of posting the whole kit to Mike (again, I consider this to be a fair approach). Mike, when you then get it all reayd to post, simply let me know what I will owe you at that point to post them all down to me.

Will await both your thoughts with many thanks!

    Peter

    I'll reply to the PM's but thought I'd just clarify that each kit has indeed have 5 sizes, but the 8mm size has two different lengths (40mm and 50mm). So therefore there are 6 packs, 4mm x 1, 5mm x 1, 6mm, 1, 8mm x 2 and 10x 1.

So there is - and in my haste, I missed that detail, thank you.

Happy to stand by the commitment I made above, however - an offer is an offer, and a word is only as good as the reputation of the person offering it.

Will await further thoughts, and delighted to work in to make this as easy and smooth as possible for everyone

    Hi Peter,

In light of the tip from Andy, I'd like to hold on to my pack of 4mm dominoes if that's ok with you. As for the split, that's very generous of you but I think Andy's suggestion of a 50:50 split is more than fair. And now that my pack of 4mm is off the table, it may be simpler if Andy ships directly to both of us. But that's Andy's call, it's his sale after all and if it's too much of a hassle ,I'm happy for the whole kit to be shipped either to myself or Peter and we organise the rest from there. Your call, Andy.

    Cheers,
    Mike

It’s no problem at all to post to both of you. I’ll do that tomorrow and update you both on postage costs.

And for everyone else, I still have 2 x kits available for $100 each.

    Cheers,
    Andy
