Festool LR 32 Shelf Hole Drilling Set + Guide Rail
Hello there!
Up for sale is the following:
Festool LR 32 Hole Drilling Systainer Set - Festool Link ($775 new)
plus Festool FS Guide Rail 1400 mm for LR 32 mm Hole System - Festool Link ($260 new)
I'm asking $700 for both, pickup in Doncaster VIC. I bought this set thinking that I'd be making a few items with adjustable shelves, but that hasn't turned out to be the case.
This set is the ultimate bit of kit for drilling holes for adjustable shelf pins, if you have a Festool router. There are two other things I've found it really handy for over time:
- As a set of adjustable ripping guides - by using the parallel side fences on either side of a guide rail, you can rip a fair range of panel sizes
- It's perfect for routing accurately-spaced holes on a Paulk-style workbench
All parts are in great condition, except for one visual blemish - there was some pitch on the guide plate after using a router bit that was burning through ply. I took some bad Youtube cleaning advice, and the problem spread In the end, I've cleaned it up, but you'll see below there are some black marks on the plate. Doesn't affect performance.
Thanks for looking!
Ben

No worries.. I'll give it a couple more days, then try Gumtree.
I found a Rockler video that suggested soaking in a detergent solution (for getting rid of pitch on saw blades). Their suggested soaking time didn't loosen it at all, so I left it in a LOT longer / After that, the whole soaked area was stained. Ended up going at it with steel wool & WD40 which fixed the original problem, but not the newly stained area. AARGH!

The problem with Festool is the high original price. Then when you have the item is what sort of instructions does it have.
While this would be a nice piece of kit, I simply do not have a need, or sufficent need for it. It may not work in an already existing cupboard, where I have my own quick cheap method of achieving the same result.
Hope you are able to sell this kit.
